Whistleblower Law Collaborative Welcomes David Lieberman

BOSTON – April 12, 2017 – Attorneys Suzanne E. Durrell and Robert M. Thomas, Jr. are pleased to announce that David Lieberman has joined the Whistleblower Law Collaborative.

Mr. Lieberman, an experienced litigator of complex fraud cases, previously practiced law at Day Pitney and Ropes & Gray.  His clients include the whistleblower and government plaintiffs suing the world’s largest producer of municipal and consumer water pipe under the False Claims Act. Mr. Lieberman previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. There, he brought one of the first successful environmental-crime prosecutions under the Massachusetts False Claims Act.

“Our whistleblower practice has been growing steadily, and we are delighted that David Lieberman has joined forces with us,” said Bob Thomas. Suzanne Durrell explained that “David’s strong background in the False Claims Act and his extensive litigation experience will make our practice even stronger.”

David Lieberman graduated Columbia University School of Law in 2008 where he served as Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He later clerked for the Honorable Bruce M. Selya of the First Circuit Court of Appeals and is currently a Lecturer at Boston University School of Law. At BU, he teaches legal writing to first- year law students. He is an active member of the Boston Bar Association and previously served in the BBA Public Interest Leadership program from 2014 to 2015. An active participant in many pro bono and charitable activities, including City Year, Mr. Lieberman is a 2015 recipient of the Up & Coming Excellence in the Law Award fromMassachusetts Lawyers Weekly for his commitment to public service and was recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2015-2016.
