WLC Partners to Speak at ABA Qui Tam & Civil False Claims and Healthcare Fraud Institute

May 27, 2026

We are pleased to announce that WLC partners Bruce Judge and Erica Hitchings will serve as faculty at the highly regarded ABA Qui Tam & Civil False Claims and Healthcare Fraud Institute 2026, taking place May 27–28, 2026 in Washington, D.C., hosted at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.

This premier program brings together leading practitioners, government representatives, and in-house counsel to examine emerging trends, enforcement priorities, and practical strategies under the False Claims Act (FCA) and in healthcare fraud matters.

Thought Leadership on Key Enforcement Issues

Both Bruce and Erica will lend their deep experience to timely and impactful discussions addressing critical developments shaping FCA enforcement.

  • Mr. Judge will serve as moderator for the panel Cyber-Fraud Enforcement: Where Does It Stand and What to Expect in the Years Ahead on Thursday, May 28 at 3:00 p.m. In recent years, the Department of Justice has prioritized cybersecurity compliance, particularly in the Defense Industrial Base. Contractors that falsely certify compliance with cybersecurity requirements—or fail to implement mandated safeguards—may face substantial legal exposure, including qui tam (whistleblower) actions, treble damages, and civil penalties.
  • Ms. Hitchings will speak on the panel Damages and Settlement in False Claims Act Cases: Legal and Practical Perspectives on Wednesday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. Erica will provide insight into the complex considerations surrounding damages calculations and settlement dynamics in FCA cases, offering both legal analysis and practical strategies for navigating high-stakes enforcement proceedings.

Continued Commitment to Knowledge

Bruce and Erica’s participation underscores their thought leadership in False Claims Act practice, as well as their commitment to sharing practical knowledge with the broader legal and compliance community.

We look forward to their contributions at this important industry event and to the valuable perspectives they will bring to attendees.
