Attorneys Suzanne E. Durrell and Robert M. Thomas, Jr. Join Forces to Represent Whistleblowers

Suzanne Durrell and Bob Thomas are pleased to announced that they will jointly represent whistleblowers under the False Claims Act and other qui tam statutes.

Ms. Durrell is the former Chief, Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts. She was lead civil attorney in a qui tam investigation that resulted in a record $486 million settlement (January 2000). She is also the recipient of several honors, including the Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service, the most prestigious recognition bestowed by the Department of Justice.

Ms. Durrell also served as a Deputy Associate Attorney General in Washington, D.C. Since leaving government service, Suzanne Durrell represented whistleblowers under the False Claims Act. She is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.

Mr. Thomas is an experienced criminal and civil trial lawyer practicing in Boston at Thomas & Associates. His firm handles qui tam litigation on behalf of whistleblowers, in addition to white-collar criminal defense matters and business litigation. Mr. Thomas also serves as a special prosecutor of labor racketeering cases as part of a national, government-mandated union reform effort.

From 1989 to 1997, Mr. Thomas served as Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Maryland. While there, DOJ honored him with the E.P.A. Bronze Award for outstanding contribution to the government’s efforts in a federal Clean Water Act prosecution. Previously, he graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Together Suzanne Durrell and Bob Thomas look forward to representing whistleblowers who fight fraud against the government.
