Federal False Claims Act Recoveries Are Soaring

Fiscal year 2025 (ending September 30, 2025), saw a record $6.8 billion in settlements and judgments under the federal False Claims Act.  This brought the total recovered under the FCA since 1986 to more than $85 billion.  Our analysis of these results (and other years) can be found here.

Meanwhile, federal FY2026 (beginning October 1, 2026) is off to a roaring start.  The Department of Justice announced FCA settlements totaling almost $1 billion in the FY’s first quarter (ending December 31, 2025). These settlements include:

• Kaiser Permanente and affiliated plans/providers ($556 million)
• APEX Medical (and owners) ($309 million)
• Ceratizit USA LLC ($54.4 million)
• Vohra Wound Physicians (and owner) ($45 million)
• CVS Pharmacy Inc. ($18 million)
• Dana-Farber Cancer Institute ($15 million)

We expect 2026 will be another strong year for the FCA.
