Whistleblower Law Collaborative is pleased to announce that Jacob B. Engelstad has joined the firm as an Associate. Jacob’s appointment reflects his commitment to helping individuals expose fraud, misconduct, and other unlawful activity.
Jacob’s relationship with the firm began while he was still in law school, serving as a law clerk and working closely with attorneys on matters involving the False Claims Act and other government whistleblower programs. During that time, he demonstrated a strong understanding of the legal and practical challenges faced by whistleblowers, making an immediate and meaningful contribution to the firm’s work.
A graduate of Denison University’s Class of 2022, Jacob began his professional career at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, where he worked full-time as a compliance officer and investigator, gaining valuable insight into government investigations and enforcement actions. That experience provided him with a unique perspective on the processes and institutions responsible for addressing fraud and misconduct.
While continuing his work in public service, Jacob enrolled in Suffolk University Law School’s evening division and pursued his legal education. In 2025, he joined Whistleblower Law Collaborative first as a summer law clerk and then during his final year of law school, where he further developed his skills in whistleblower representation and advocacy. His experience working at the intersection of government enforcement and private legal practice has equipped him with a practical understanding of the challenges whistleblowers encounter when deciding whether and how to come forward.
A native of Somerville, Massachusetts, Jacob brings both professional experience and a personal commitment to public service to his role at the firm. He is passionate about supporting individuals who report fraud against the government, corporate misconduct, healthcare fraud, and other violations of law. His thoughtful approach, strong work ethic, and dedication to clients make him a valuable addition to the Whistleblower Law Collaborative team.
